Usage | Bible Sander

Bible Sander is very easy to use! Just drop the scripture with the verse numbers and reference marks into the upper text field and the reformatted scripture will be automatically shown in the lower text field ready for usage.

MainWindow

Depending on how you set up the options, Bible Sander will automatically place the reformatted text on the system clipboard for you to paste into your favorite word processor or application. You can also use the drag and drop icon to drop the scripture and citation directly. This makes using Bible Sander a one step operation.

Buttons

  • Convert - Convert the text in the upper text field and populate the lower text field.
  • Clear - Clear all the text in both the upper and lower text edit fields regardless of the selection in the text fields.

Options


The following options are available and can be set to a default state through the preferences window.

Remove:
  • Verse numbers - Remove verse numbers from the text.
  • Leading book verse - Remove verse numbers from the text that start at the beginning of a line with the format similar to “Gen. 1:1” or “Genesis 1.1”.
  • Trailing book verse - Remove verse numbers from the text at the end of a line with the format similar to “Gen. 1:1” or “Genesis 1.1”.
  • (xx) references - Remove references such as (A) from the text.
  • [xx] references - Remove references such as [b] from the text.
  • Blank lines - Remove blank lines from the text.
  • Multiple spaces - Convert multiple spaces into a single space. This is useful when joining lines, but you do not remove the blank lines.
  • Title lines - Remove title lines from the text. A title line is defined as a line with no punctuation. This option may in rare cases produce false positives, so be careful in using this option.
  • Title lines with a blank line - Remove title lines from the text. A title line is defined as a line with no punctuation. In the case of this option a blank line must follow the title. This option is safer than the plain “Title lines” option.
Formatting:
  • Join lines - Create a single paragraph out of the text.
  • Change words in all CAPS - Convert to lower case words that are in all caps.
Actions:
  • Auto convert text - Whenever any options are changed in the window or the text in the upper text edit field window changes, the lower text edit field is automatically updated.
  • Auto paste to clipboard - Whenever the reformatted scripture is updated in the lower text edit field of the window, the result is placed on the clipboard.

Contextual Menus


Contextual menu
The following contextual menu is available when you click on one of the text fields with a right mouse click.
  • Clear - Clear all the text in the currently active text edit field regardless of the selection in the text edit field.
  • Clear All - Clear all the text in both the upper and lower text edit fields regardless of the selection in the text edit fields.
  • Copy - Copy the all of the text in the target text edit field to the system clipboard..
  • Save - Save the text of the target text edit field to a file.

Citations


You can add citations to a scripture and save it to scrapboard window. After you sand a scripture, type in the citation for the scripture in the citation field and then select the “Add Scrap” menu item to copy the scripture and citation to the currently targeted scrapboard window.

Drag and Drop


In the bottom left hand corner of the main Bible Sander Window is a drag and drop icon. Clicking and dragging this icon will drag the reformatted scripture and citation to wherever you drop it. You can also drag the scripture the scripture to any open scrapboard window.

In the preferences window you can set the default state of the options when opening a new Bible Sander window.
